Many people in the work force assume the only way to enjoy some of the benefits in life is to receive employer offered benefits. Think about it. One of the most popular questions asked when we talk about a new job opportunity is: “does the job come with benefits?” With many companies struggling to cut back on costs in an ever changing
competitive market place the answer to this question, in many cases, is; “no.” There is also the ongoing assumption in America that unless our employer offers health care and retirement benefits we are destined to go without it. To which, you may want to consider asking; “says who?” Isn’t this is a bit of stark contrast to some of the principles that many generation X and gen Y’s in the market place stand for?
Today, many ambitious, fearless professionals are paving their own way into market places, they are more creative and innovative than past generations, with a spirit that doesn’t just count on the big man for a place in life but is rather challenging the “big man” of corporate America by leading the way to new solutions and innovative ways of thinking in business. So, this month J.P. Kush is looking at some of the realities of Michigan’s market place in relation to the number of incredible workers here in our great state that are going without insurance simply, because the big man isn’t offering it to them. To which, we are saying, why wait for this benefit in life: get it yourself. You are savvy, daring and innovative at finding ways to create your own solutions and paths in life. So, why wouldn’t you be doing the same to find peace of mind in regards to your health care needs?
Let’s look at some of the numbers on this topic. According to the, Uninsured Report, by the Michigan Department of Community Health and the U.S. Census Bureau; employees at firms with fewer than 100 employees represent half (50.9) percent of the working uninsured and 34.2 of the private self employed workforce. Workers at smaller firms have the greatest risk
of being uninsured. To look at these numbers a bit closer: 20.5 % of self-employed workers are uninsured, 21.9 % of workers who work for a company with 10 or less employees are uninsured, 17.4% of workers who work for a company with 24 or less employees are uninsured and 12.1% of workers who work for a company with 100 or less employees are uninsured. These are considerable numbers and J.P. Kush is on a mission to get to know all of the workers in Michigan that are working hard but are not enjoying the peace of mind that comes in life by having coverage if an accident or illness is to occur.
A question also arises from experts in the field, like J.P. Kush, because we know the ins and outs of the Health Care industry and that affordable health care plans and coverage exists for individuals. If this group of uninsured individuals are as creative, perceptive, savvy, daring, innovative and solutions driven as we know they are; how come so many of these workers in Michigan that are self employed or that work for small firms have not taken the time to discover the solutions that exist for them? Perhaps, the word of health care sends chills down your spine and you can’t break the shiver long enough to look into what options are out there. Perhaps, you are waiting for a national health care plan to be offered for the first time in our countries history. Well, national health care isn’t happening anytime soon and in the mean time there are plenty of options that are available; many of
which cost less than $130 a month for the average worker and are offered by many of the top insurance carriers like Humana One, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna ,to name a few. So, with this in consideration, the next step is to get to know what is actually out there, which is where independent insurance agents like J.P Kush and Associates come in. Our agents actually enjoy scouring all of the health care plans available and finding the one for you, so that you don’t have to deal with the headache or the chills that ensue when you think of doing the homework on your own. Share some of your questions and concerns with us or at the very least start doing some of the homework on your own so that you can put an end to going without something that you can more than likely, easily have in life.
Hopefully, armed with this information and a jolt of inspiration, many of you hard working individuals in Michigan that are currently uninsured are now one step closer to heading
into a conversation with your friends and relatives, with the ability to say; “yeah my health plan covers that too for about the same price and I’m not working for the big man to get it”.
